Living Beyond Borders

‘Living Beyond Borders’ is a poem performance about the on-going conflict the world is facing right now and how the world had always faced this before time and again. The poem will show the plight, the suffering, the inhumane treatment people of different race, ethnicity, colour and different region are going through due to border dispute, governance policy crisis, ideology mismatch and internal armed conflicts rising. The poem is an attempt to tell stories of people: adult, young and children who have faced extreme exploitation, inhumane treatment, threats of genocide, starvation and violation of their human rights.

Leave No One Behind

MY World 360° 2020 Collection
The piece takes its inspiration from the SDG motto ‘leave no one behind’ as well as containing a recited passage from an article by the writer Arundhati Roy and ends with a quotation from peacebuilders Dr. Daisaku Ikeda and Nobel Peace Laureate Adolfo Pérez Esquivel. These ideas and words were used to engage with young musicians (children and teenagers) from Junior Academy of Music, Belfast, Northern Ireland. The music, the voices, and the visuals combine in a piece on what can be achieved beyond isolation and the pandemic, from the perspectives of young people, and with hope for the future.
