Breakout session | Stage 1
Host: UN Foundation
The United Nations Foundation will host “Game On for Climate Action!” during the Zone. Using data to both challenge and inform, the conversation will thread the moment we are in now – young people challenging international climate action, 2020 on track to be the hottest year on record, and large swaths of the world on fire with no respite in sight – with the need for people everywhere to take climate action into their own hands – both in their daily lives, as well as how they advocate to global leaders to protect humanity’s only home, and the beloved places where we live and breathe.
Around the world surveys show that climate change remains one of the top issues of global concern for citizens everywhere. We all need to be more committed than ever to protect the places we love – to make changes in our own lives – and to demand that our leaders work together better to listen to the science, pay attention to the data, and to implement the goals of the Paris Agreement, at the very least. Each and every one of us is on the frontlines of climate change – a global threat even greater than the pandemic.
