Breakout Session | Stage 2

Host: Sesame Workshop, LEGO Foundation

The COVID-19 crisis has brought unprecedented disruption to the lives of millions of children around the world, compounding the risks for those most vulnerable, including the 31 million displaced children worldwide. In 2018, the LEGO Foundation made a landmark $100 million grant to Sesame Workshop to deliver early education to children affected by the Syrian and Rohingya refugee crises, through the power of educational media and learning through play. Now, amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the LEGO Foundation, Sesame Workshop, and their partners are rapidly adapting to continue to reach and teach the world’s most vulnerable children – and laying the foundation to transform how the world responds to children in crisis for generations to come.
