Governments continue to serve an oversized role in fighting the current climate crisis, simply by honoring their commitments of the Paris Agreement. While it was national leaders who signed the Agreement, it is the cities, where most of the world’s population lives, that will have to find out how to meet those targets. The name-giving city of the Agreement has announced its plans to become Europe’s greenest city by 2030. This cross-cultural conversation will discuss the Deputy Mayor of Paris’ plan to set the city on a course to transform urban life, and also how cities can come together to coordinate local climate policies.
