IN CONVERSATION
The world is facing multiple and compounding crises at the moment: from the war in Ukraine and its impact, and conflict in other regions of the world, to destructive climate crises, including floods and fires, the risk of famine, economic instability, global inflation and the remnants of the COVID-19 pandemic. Dealing with numerous, intersecting crises requires a prompt, effective and sensitive response in a matter of days, if not hours, in order to save as many lives as possible. In this conversation, Under-Secretary General for Humanitarian Affairs Martin Griffiths will discuss the complex process of responding to crises, what is needed to mount effective responses and the measures taken to guarantee and protect human life and dignity.
